Behind the Design: A Shared Boys Room
We're kicking off a brand new blog series today where we give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse at one of our latest designs.
The Space: A boys room in Florida.
The Challenge: Since the room is shared by a 9 yr old and 4 yr old, it needed to be fitting for both of their ages, yet mature enough to transition as they get older.
The Before: Here's where we started:
These little guys (and their mama) already had such great style. We just helped bring it all together and take it to the next level.
The process: After completing our design survey and chatting about their dream space, Gretchen got to work designing.
Along the way, she sent over some design boards for approval by her savvy young client.
Once the winner was chosen, we tweaked a few things and then sent over the final design with shopping links, a mood board, and a floor plan.
The framed jersey on the wall was their grandfather's college football jersey. Because we believe every room should tell a story, that was a "must have" in the space! Other meaningful mementoes and books grace the walls, giving the boys endless opportunity to read and daydream.
The fun navy rug grounds the space while the pops of orange make it pop!
The wallpaper adds interest; but will also grow well with the boys.
"I had the best experience working with the Crisp Interiors team.
I asked them to design my sons’ bedroom, which turned out awesome! My boys are 9 and 4, so they had to find a way to make the theme/decor appropriate and appealing for both a big and little boy. They provided alternative room layouts (bunks v. singles) which helped me visualize the space. Then, she listened intently on my vision and combined all of the elements in a truly cohesive fashion. She worked with pieces that I already had and found ways to give them new life. She also incorporated sentimental objects in a fun way! They made shopping easy by providing links to everything. I’m so happy I chose to work with them and so are the boys!"
Here at Crisp Interiors, we could not be more grateful for the way this sweet family entrusted us with such a special room. These are the moments that make our job so wonderful. Thank you!
